About The Club

The Club

Gudbrandsdal Fuglehundklubb was founded in 1997. This happened when Ottadalen Fuglehundklubb decided to expand the club’s catchment area, and focus on getting members from the southern part of Gudbrandsdalen as well.

Ottadalen Fuglehundklubb was founded in 1987, and the first elected chairman was Ole Jonny Runningen. Åge Dalheim, Bjørn Bjørgen and Knut Sørli were among the driving forces behind starting the club. Since then, these enthusiasts have held the position of leaders in Ottadalen – and Gudbrandsdal Fuglehundklubb: Halvor Romstad, Arne Hovde, Magnar Steen, Hans Arne Nielsen and as of today, John Petter Teigen holds this position.

Over the years, the club has organized many hunting trials and exhibitions, as well as club trials in clay pigeon shooting, retrieving and hunting trials.

As of today, the club organizes 2 hunting trials and an exhibition per year as regular events. The winter trial was organized in 2010 together with Hedmark and Oppland Fuglehundklubb, and it was so positive that we will also do it in 2011.
